REMY O'NEIL

If saving the Earth feels overwhelming, take a look at how one person’s lifestyleand decisions make a difference everyday – Remy O’Neill

She makes that difference in the world focusing on environmental issues, using renewable energy sources, consciously recycling, reducing energy consumption and supporting conscious financial investments. Starting with changes at home, shows how each person’s actions can start a positive ripple effect. Remy’s influence inspired me to found the Cornucopia Foundation. I hope it illustrates how simple it is to make a difference and  inspires you to take your first steps.

What Remy has shown me is that you must be the change you want to see in the world. Upon arrival at Remy O’Neill’s home it isi immediately evident her house and gardens  are different. The home is an environmental showcase with various water conservation techniques and appliances.

Part of the gardens are watered by a Subsurface Wastewater Infiltration System, recycling the water from the house. This SWIS not only delivers nutrients to the soil but helps to improve it as well. The hillside is planted with native and drought tolerant plants, as well as fire resistant trees all laid out to combat fire and restore native flora and provide habitat for birds, pollinators and various animals. The garden also employs composting and worm farm to build good soil and reduce waste to the landfill.

Eco friendly cleaning supplies, compact fluorescents, instant hot water and other conservation decisions are all part of everyday living here.

When I asked Remy to write her bio, she said she was too busy, but I interpreted that as being too modest. S, I decided to write it for her. Now that I’ve shared how she lives in the present with an eye for the future, here’s a little about her past.

Born in New York, Remy graduated with the highest GPA in her classes at all three levels of education. Her first career was as Head Nurse of a New York City Emergency Room. Moving to California, she pursued acting, appearing in TV, Films, Equity Theater & commercials.  Through unusual circumstances, she was catapulted into owning a bankrupt manufacturing corporation.

Remy turned the corporation into a highly profitable company, adding another three product lines, helping to design prototype machines, and turning around another two bankrupt companies.j  Along the way she became a certified yoga teacher, learned trapeze flying, scuba and participates in all things outdoors.

She has recently sold her company and is on the lookout for a new challenge.
